Background

The Georgian Bay Hunter Jumper Show Circuit was founded in 1990 by Jeanne Mervyn, Jennifer Gray, Val Shaw and Marylin and Gerry Knight. These local horse people realized there was a demand for a local show circuit in the area and developed a schooling show series that offered a range of classes, encouraging all levels of riders to compete.

In 1994, the circuit became part of the Trillium Hunter/Jumper Association creating a new Trillium zone known as Georgian Bay. Although the first year did not see a full Trillium class list, the circuit soon expanded to offer a full schedule. The region became so competitive that at the 1999 Trillium Championships, the Georgian Bay Zone was Region Champion.

Today, the circuit has grown to see as many as 125 entries. Along with the mandatory Trillium divisions, additional Primary level classes have been added to the schedule, giving a start to the next generation of Trillium competitors.
